Fun for the Family
- Categorized in: Winter Activities
Alagna is small village and therefore with little or no village traffic is a very family friendly place.
There is a beginners area called "Wold" which is a 5 minute drive up from the main village. Here children and adults alike can learn the basics of skiing in what is a much more tame ski area than Alagna itself. There is a cafe and a small restaurant in Wold. Having a car to go to and from the village to Wold is helpful.
We would also highly recommend hiring a ski instructor or attending ski school where they teach all levels. Ski school is not active full time, so please ask for more information from one of the Zuba Ski team.
After a couple of days in Wold Alagna then offers some wonderful wide groomed pistes where beginners can really get to grips with the mountains. Unlike other resorts in the Alps, the mountains are not over crowded, queues are non-existant and the Italian warmth towards families and children is infectious.
Aside from skiing, there is also the ice rink which children will love, as well as a childrens play area.
For older teenagers, there is a sports hall with table football and other indoor games.
Alagna doesn’t as yet have any crèche facilities however dedicated baby sitters can be arranged on request either for all day child care or evening baby sitting.
Ice Skating
There is an open air ice rink in Alagna situated next to the Sports Hall.
It is open from December to March and we hope to update you in the near future about opening times in the day and equipment hire.
